Don't miss Largo PAWFEST this coming Saturday, April 2. at Largo Central Park, 10-3

Fun activities for both children and canines. This years Pawfest will feature:

- For the kids: games, face painting, clowns, food and rides on the Largo Central Railroad

- For the canines: “Dancing with the Dogs” talent show, dog training, K-9 demos, animal rescue groups and more

Doofus and I will be there ... Hope to see you all there!

Get Rescued in Gulfport

Get Rescued in Gulfport is an animal rescue festival which will be held on Saturday, February 26th, 2011 on Beach Blvd. from 10AM to 5PM. This year, there's also an evening event which will take place inside the Gulfport Casino from 7-11PM.

As many as 60 animal rescue groups will be set up along Beach Blvd. with adoptable pets to raise money and awareness for their causes.

Beginning April 30, the Postal Service will issue a 44–cent, Animal Rescue: Adopt a Shelter Pet stamp series.

There are 10 stamp designs, and each sweet face was found at rescue centers. Click the link below to pre-order your stamps and to read about each of the pets pictured on them.
