Come to the Pinellas Paws Cause party! Bring your whole family - pets included, of course! View the Pinellas Paws Cause portrait mural - benefiting the Animal Welfare Trust Fund - and meet the artist.

Tour the adoption center ($20 adoptions), $5 rabies shots, and have Fido's photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Paws. There will be a Food Truck Rally and much more.

Holiday Pet Sitting and Cancellation Fees

Critter Pal is completely booked for dog visits over the holidays. We currently have a couple openings for once a day visits for cats, birds, etc., but those will also be limited to a tight service area due to our schedule.

That said, I have already had to turn down 3 prospective new clients. So if you have already booked my services over the holidays, please note that I will be enforcing my cancellation fees if you decide you need to cancel. My cancellation fee is 50% of your total service, so if your total was to come to $150 for the week, if you cancel, you will be charged $75.

November/December Special

Due to the approaching holiday rush, we will not be offering any specials during the months of November or December.

Thanksgiving Weekend

I wanted to take a moment to let you all know that Critter Pal is completely booked for dog visits over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. I will not be taking on any additional visits that require two visits per day. I can, however, fit in one or two cat or caged pet clients who only require one visit per day, and are flexible on the times.

This coming Wednesday, May 18, the beach scene is happening at Frenchy's Tiki Bar at Bright House Field-its Hula Dog Yappy Hour starting at 4:30 with the Clearwater Threshers playing at 7:30. Beach games, beach pail give-a-ways and excellent photo opportunities!

5th Annual Paw Fest

Fun activities for both children and canines. This years Pawfest will feature:

- For the kids: games, face painting, clowns, food and rides on the Largo Central Railroad

- For the canines: “Dancing with the Dogs” talent show, dog training, K-9 demos, animal rescue groups and more

Get Rescued in Gulfport

Get Rescued in Gulfport is an animal rescue festival which will be held on Saturday, February 26th, 2011 on Beach Blvd. from 10AM to 5PM. This year, there's also an evening event which will take place inside the Gulfport Casino from 7-11PM.

As many as 60 animal rescue groups will be set up along Beach Blvd. with adoptable pets to raise money and awareness for their causes.

So, it's already mid-October (can you believe it?) I want to remind everybody that NOW is the time to book the pet sitter for your holiday vacations. I'm already scheduling clients in for the prime time slots, but currently still have availabilities for both dog and cat visits. Open spaces won't last long though, so if you're planning on traveling, don't put off finding pet care any longer!
